The Hunger Games!

"The Hunger Games" is fast paced and exciting! Its gotten good reviews from just about everyone including famous authors; John Green, Stephen King, and Stephanie Meyer. The book trilogy really got started last year, when people started talking about the first book becoming a movie in 2012. Now that the trailer has been released and its official, everyone is getting excited. Especially me!
I read the books in 5 days last winter, while curled up next to the fire. Christmas had just ended and these were among the books that I'd received, I picked them up doubting they would be very good and that I would give up on them before the day was over. I was wrong of course, submerged in a world of the future, I followed a girl named Katniss Everdeen who lived in District 12 with her younger sister Primrose and her mother. Her mother had fallen into a deep depression after her father died in a mining explosion when Katniss was only 8. So, Katniss was then forced to take care of herself and her sister by learning to hunt for food, from a close childhood friend Gale. The story takes off when Katniss and her sister Prim go to a meeting in the town square for the annual Hunger Games drawing, where two kids from each district go into an arena and fight to the death until there is only one left. When Primrose Everdeen's name is called, Katniss volunteers to take her place and gets paired with another contestant Peeta Mellark the town baker's son. They are then are taken to the Capitol for their preparation (interviews, shows, etc) for the show.
These books take not only them but, the person reading on the journey of a lifetime. This book combines fashion, hunting, action, horror, love, madness, sifi, and fantasy (you name it its got it!). This is truly a set that I would recommend for ALL ages, the characters are deep, the story is amazing, and the flow is great; everything about this trilogy is awesome! One of the truly great thing about these books, is that it sweeps you into another world and captures you on the very first chapter. It's like watching a movie where you're the hero; you have feelings, thoughts, and ideas as well as control. Once you've picked them up, you can't put them down!

Faces

I find one of the most interesting things in life is when a person looks at another and tells them they love them. At the same time for me it's one of those things I can't seem to figure out... don't get me wrong I know what love is, but it's nothing I can explain.
At 15 things can get complicated there's the factor of hormones, driving, school, friends, and life in general. I find that as an innocent christian in High School it can get terrifying, demons lurking around every corner waiting to snap while things bubble over in chemistry or a life threatening war in history. Even in the hallways a dramatic soap opera is taking place, God says to be in the world not of it and that is what I plan to do!
As warrior we must prepare ourselves and fight for what is good and right I realize that now we must not be selfish or untrustworthy no matter how much we might be tempted. I understand we get confused and mixed up we just have to walk through it with a smile on our face and our head held high. One thing I do not want to be carried away with though is pride, I find that that can sometimes be what makes the bad guy in those movies. Thinking they can do it all... rule the world, be popular, or famous. We just have to think a little more than we already do thats what makes the hero, who makes the person, or their personality.
Just have a little faith don't just believe! Be YOU... dance on the tables if you must or even plank!;D

The Harry Potter Generation

In it's own way I doubt Harry Potter will trully end. The last movie is expected to come out on July 13, 2011 which for me (right now) is tomorrow. After eight full years of experiencing the Harry Potter series I find it sad to say that this decade is coming to end. I hope that all the fans will keep the series living though because I don't think it trully has to end. There is a magic about it that can keep living if we pass it down. See it hit me today that no matter how much I like other books there will always be something in these that seemed to keep my childhood in a bottle or a book. I will forever continue reading, writing, and enjoying this marvelous series. I'll be keeping up with pottermore as well as any other JK books. I can honestly say this will trully be a decade to remember.  Thank You JK! ~Katie

Brian Gaskills, Acting Class

So, this past Monday of June 13, I walked into a class and was dramatically surprised. On the very first day of this five day class I found myself on the floor in tears looking at someone whom I had barely met but, whom soon became my friend. It obviously wasn't something I expected but, afterward I looked at the world differently... people differently and I'm sure he and everyone else did to. You see it was an exercise something that we were to open up to and give full attention, everyone did or tried to and by the end of only four hours we were a family. If you can believe all that happening in four hours then, hopefully you can understand what the class would have been like after five days.
Tell me can you imagine what that must have been like to walk in a room with 8 or 9 total strangers then, walk out and come back the next day feeling connected. It was a great feeling, something I didn't think I would ever fall into. Over the next five days we made friends, shared experiences, and lived a little differently.
The only problem now though is that people don't take me seriously when I say that this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. To be honest I've also probably made the biggest deal about it to because I want people to know that if they trully like acting then, they'll put there best foot forward and take chances because at some point you'll make a mistake or do something stupid. It's ok though we've all been through it and no matter how uncool it might seem it's ok. LOVE TO ALL!
GOD BLESS!!:)

Summer Experiences!

I often find myself drifting away into other worlds or coming up with strange stories though not always realistic. I love the world we live in and the great challenges that come with it, living life for me comes as apart of later dying, though I do not fear death for I know that I will only die to live. I have a great deal of emotional hardship the past few months in ways I dont care to explain. It's not that it's super bad or I don't want you to know but, simply the fact that it's very complicated and wouldn't be worth it in the end.

This summer i took a class: during school my mother found a article in a paper talking about a soap star who had played in several different shows and movies. At the time I said ok I would try it and to be honest I wasn't really intrested on learning from anyone who worked on soap operas. The class still seemed promising and the guy had hollywood experience so I did it. It was honest to goodness one of the best things I could've ever done to help me not only acting wise but, as a person and a writer. He worked with us on several different exercises and on different levels and by the end we didn't want to leave.

Thor and Loki

My family and I went to the first Drive-Inn of the summer last night, something we've been wanting to do for a while now! We went to see Thor and Pirates of the Caribbean both were good though, unexpectedly we enjoyed Thor a lot.  It was full of action and had a neat Lord of the Rings / Star Wars vibe to it.

The movie's story line takes place between two brothers: The god of Thunder (Thor) and The god of Mischief (Loki). Both of which are in competition for the crown, Thor being the oldest, eventually takes the privilege of being king. This happening then makes Loki jealous so he devises a way to stop the ceremony, soon after he learns some things about himself he never knew. In the midst of all this Thor's privileges end up being taken away and he gets banished to Earth...

The rest of the story you'll have to go see for yourself... at the movies its more epic there:)

This movie is great and adventurous I advise all to go see it. It brought me to a tie to where I didn't know whether I should be rooting for Loki or Thor. (of course, Thor was the good guy so I should've been for him but, I got the jist of how Loki felt also)

Creative Thoughts

A few months back, a couple told me that if I was truly interested in writing that blogging, was the way to do it. So, months later I thought I would take the chance, and here I am, much time has gone by and since then I've learned far beyond what I knew in the past.

If you know me then you know that I like writing a lot, you will also come to find that I LOVE GOD for he is such a huge aspect in my life and with that my spirit. Through this journey I hope that you discover much about me for I am very open and would also love to discover some about you. My life is very busy and then again very unbusy, I have huge love for learning and books so that occupies a good third of my time. The rest of my life is focused on family, school, and friends. I am not a big social butterfly though still I make my way through high school fair enough with plenty of brain and heart.

You'll probably find that in some of my posts, I will post stories, dreams, ideas, reviews, and plenty of other things for entertainment purposes only. If you have any issues, stories, or something  that you would like to contribute so that I may post then please by all means let me know.

I'm happy to be apart of the blogging world thank you so very much for reading, until next time.
